Initially we will make sure the children settle in well and get used to the Year 1 routines. Children will be getting to know each other as they are amongst new peers in their classes. During the autumn term, we will look at two themes, 'All about me' and 'Toys'. Both our themes are broken down into separate topics. Children will cover engaging lessons learning about their bodies in Science and looking at feelings in 2 of our core books. In art we will be looking at the work of the artist Vincent Van Gogh, children will draw self-portraits. There are external workshops planned to provide children with new experiences. Please see the attached knowledge organisers for more information. At the end of year 1 we hold a nativity performance.
